General Observation: An excellent walk across open fields and along wood edges. Good views over Cambs/Suffolk border country. A pleasant walk at anytime of the year.

Walk Description

Starting at Kirtling Green park  at the top of the access road to the Reservoir. Road walk back towards village and take footpath on the right taking you around the reservoir. Follow the stream past Great Widgham Wood.

Pass footpath on left and continue to concrete ford where 4 paths meet. Take path on left, walking on the left of the stream.

When path bears right go left and and enter small copse. Follow footpath beside stream. At end of path turn left then right towards Pratt's Green Farm. At tarmac road cross straight ahead and follow footpath to road.

Cross road and pass by lakes. Continue along edge of field with stream on left. At copse turn left and go up hill. At junction turn right. Shortly afterwards the path crosses fields on the left. Path should be across field but easier to walk around headland. Continue to road.

Turn right and then left at junction. Road walk until Sewage Works. Turn left along broad footpath running to playing fields. Cross fields to village hall and to road. Turn left and then right onto footpath. 

At corner of Lucy Wood turn left and follow along edge. At junction turn right. Shortly turn right and head down to Yew Tree Farm and road. Turn right to parking.
