General Observation: A wonderful walk through a quiet area of Thetford Forest and along the River Ouse. Route follows broad tracks through the trees. However after Little Lodge Farm the way is not marked until you get to the river.
Walk Description
Park at St Helen's Picnic Area and head down to the bridge over the river
Pass between horse fields and turn left onto broad track. Continue along until you can see Little Lodge Farm. Take footpath to right through trees and cross track
Continue with fence on left and follow until you come to tunnel through the trees
At end turn right and head up the hill. Continue on this path for approx 3 miles.
Take left path (not marked) down to river and cross at weir. Turn left
Continue along track that stays by river for a little while and then into the forest. Pass power station and go under the railway line. Turn left along narrow paththat runs by the railway line. Follow all the way back to the start point.
